The effects of pharmaceuticals and their mixtures were investigated in three different fish cell lines
On 20th March UNIVPM PhD student Michela Panni arrived at Lab of Biological Chemistry in Stavanger (University of Stavanger, Norway) to perform a joint experiment between the UNIVPM research team in collaboration with the UiS research team.
The aim was to evaluate, through an in vitro approach, the effects of single APIs and their mixtures by looking at cell viability, reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and wound healing in three different fish cell lines (gut, liver and gills). This approach will be helpful enhancing the scientific knowledge on the mechanisms of action, molecular pathways and targets of these molecules in non-target organisms.
